Random Daily Thoughts (12/5/08)

Updated 6 pm

- That’s a lot of money Mr. President-elect.

- Apparently, some people don’t think Barack Obama meets the requirements of the U.S. Constitution. Who knew?

- Interesting piece on Obama and the potential for “post-racial” politics. Hogwash, IMO (that race is behind us, not the article).

- Apparently, Obama’s got quite the honeymoon period. Didn’t he only win with 53% of the vote? Can’t say I’m not happy, but still.

- The constant bad economic news is rather depressing.

- I was right in picking Rutgers, but putting up 63? 7 TDs from Teel? Can’t say I saw that coming.

- As for the Chargers game, I was just about right on the offensive side, but their defense finally played like people thought at the beginning of the season. Then again, it is the Raiders.

- According to Stewart Mandel, the Bulldogs have hit a ceiling under Mark Richt, and Florida and Alabama are going to dominate the SEC for the next couple of years. I’m not sure I agree… but I’m not sure I disagree either. Le sigh.

Update 6:03 pm

- Apparently, Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee are the two leading candidates for the 2012 GOP nomination, followed closely by Mitt Romney. 1) Good news for Democrats. 2) Didn’t we just finish an election? Can’t we wait until after the mid-terms?

- Upscale restaurants that don’t accept reservations annoy me.

- Apparently Obama isn’t doing a good enough job of appointing Hispanics to his cabinet. Sorry, but every cabinet position is as important as its Secretary makes it. Richardson is high profile — and the Commerce Department will be incredibly important, especially with the economic mess.

- O.J. Simpson, you are a disgusting person.

- Worst job losses in decades… and stocks go up?

- Plaxico Burress (not “Bussell”), you did a lot more damage to yourself than just shooting your thigh.

- I was wrong! Battlestar Galactica comes back in January. Silly me.
